John Woo Biyografisi

John Woo Yu-Sen SBS (22 Eylül 1946 doğumlu), Hong Konglu bir film yönetmeni ve yapımcısıdır. Oldukça koreografiye sahip aksiyon sahneleri, Meksika zıtlıkları ve ağır çekim kullanımından oluşan stilize filmleriyle tanınan Woo, aralarında A Better Tomorrow, The Killer, Hard Boiled ve Red Cliff'in de bulunduğu birçok önemli Hong Kong aksiyon filmi yönetti. Hollywood filmleri arasında Hard Target, Broken Arrow, Face/Off ve Mission: Impossible 2 bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca Virgin Comics tarafından yayınlanan Seven Brothers adlı çizgi roman serisinin de yaratıcısıdır. Woo, 2002'de The Observer'da Dave Kehr tarafından "günümüzde film yapan tartışmasız en etkili yönetmen" olarak tanımlandı. Woo en sevdiği üç filmi David Lean'ın Lawrence of Arabia, Akira Kurosawa'nın Seven Samurai ve Jean-Pierre Melville'in Le Samouraï adlı filmlerinden bahsediyor.
