Philip Jackson Biyografisi

Philip Jackson (18 Haziran 1948 doğumlu), birçok televizyon ve film rolüyle tanınan bir İngiliz aktördür; en önemlisi, Agatha Christie's Poirot adlı televizyon dizisindeki Başmüfettiş Japp ve 1980'lerin kült dizisi Sherwood'lu Robin'de yinelenen düşmanlardan biri olan Abbot Hugo rolüyle tanınır. Jackson, Retford, Nottinghamshire'da doğdu. Bristol Üniversitesi'nde Drama ve Almanca eğitimi alırken oyunculuğa başladı ve Leeds, Liverpool ve Londra'da tiyatroda çalıştı. Sahne çalışmaları arasında 1991'de West End'deki Queen's Theatre'da Samuel Beckett'in Godot'yu Beklerken adlı eserindeki Pozzo ve 2010'da Leeds'deki West Yorkshire Playhouse'da Arthur Miller'ın Death of a Salesman adlı eserindeki Willy Loman yer alıyor. Little Voice (1998) filmindeki rolüyle Screen Actors Guild Ödülü'ne aday gösterildi. Televizyondaki rolleri arasında Coronation Street, Robin of Sherwood, A Touch of Frost, Foyle's War, Midsomer Murders, Heartbeat, Little Britain, Hamish Macbeth, Raised by Wolves ve Last of the Summer Wine yer aldı. Ayrıca Scum, Paul McCartney'nin Give My Regards to Broad Street, Brassed Off, Mike Bassett: England Manager, "Grow Your Own" ve My Week with Marilyn filmlerinde de rol aldı. Ayrıca A-Ha'nın "Take On Me" adlı müzik videosunda da yer aldı.
