Zubin Mehta Biyografisi

Zubin Mehta (29 Nisan 1936 doğumlu), Batı ve Doğu klasik müziğinin Hintli şefidir. İsrail Filarmoni Orkestrası'nın (IPO) emekli müzik direktörü ve Los Angeles Filarmoni Orkestrası'nın emekli şefidir. Mehta, 1961'den 1967'ye kadar Montreal Senfoni Orkestrası'nın ve 1962'den 1978'e kadar Los Angeles Filarmoni Orkestrası'nın müzik direktörlüğünü yaptı ve herhangi bir büyük Kuzey Amerika orkestrasının şimdiye kadarki en genç müzik yönetmeni oldu. 1969'da İsrail Filarmoni Orkestrası'na Müzik Danışmanı olarak atandı ve 1981'de Orkestranın Yaşam Boyu Müzik Direktörü oldu. Mehta, 1978'den 1991'e kadar New York Filarmoni Orkestrası'nın müzik direktörlüğünü yaptı. 1985'ten beri İtalya'nın Floransa kentindeki Maggio Musicale Fiorentino'nun şef şefidir.
